JOB PURPOSE:
To provide Food and Beverage service to the Café guests in a positive and professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS: (Includes equipment knowledge/use)
• Prior restaurant experience required.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to perform server cashier function.
• Must have point of sales data entry experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Provide excellent Food & Beverage service to Café guests.
• Full menu item ingredient preparation and knowledge.
• Provide wine and cocktail service.
• Preset and clear tables when needed.
• Perform any scheduled, assigned or delegated duties in order to maintain restaurant cleanliness and flow of business.
• Perform all opening and closing side work.
• Greet and seat guests.
• Server cashier procedures.
• Any other duties requested.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: (*Constantly, Frequently, Occasionally)
• Frequently lifting and carrying trays up to a maximum of 25 lbs.
• Frequently smelling, tasting, bending, stooping, wrist motion.
• Occasionally lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. for distances up to 50 feet.
• Occasionally pushing and/or pulling up to a maximum of 120 lbs for distances up to 40 feet.

POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent in this position is responsible for serving beverages to guests of the Spokane Tribe Casino.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  2. Uphold the highest standard of customer service and provide the best possible experience for our guests.
  3. Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned checks and is accountable for any and all overages and shortages.
  4. Keep cocktail server station clean and orderly.
  5. Act as a guest service representative by providing information about the facility.
  6. Act in a manner that is professional in body language and attitude.
  7. Alert management to guests who are intoxicated or under 21.
  8. Enhance the company's objective to provide an entertaining environment through maintenance of visual appearance, according to department standards.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

  • Have ability to be on their feet for entire shift.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers alike.
  • Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity depends upon customer volume.
  • Move effectively and efficiently throughout the casino floor and in the bar areas.
  • Carry serving tray, weighing up to 10 pounds, throughout an 8 - 10 hour shift and serve drinks to customers.
  • Document and comprehend drink orders.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Must meet established department appearance standards. The skills and abilities necessary to perform within this position are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training or through related experience. Customer service skills required.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to obtain certifications and licenses as required including a gaming license through the Spokane Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Spokane Tribe Casino.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee's department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management
